How to purchase a memorial
Whether pre-planning or looking beyond the burial or cremation of a loved one, many professionals are available to assist you throughout the memorialization process. At Cold Spring Granite, we work with cemeteries and memorial companies to help you find the option that best meets your needs, from traditional upright granite monuments and flush bronze memorials to a wide variety of cremation memorials.
Typically, the selection process is flexible and will meet your needs in a timely manner. Your sales counselor will work with you to inventory your desires and explain the process in great detail.
Questions that may arise:
Where would you like to place the memorial?
Whether cemetery, park, community mausoleum or private estate, guidelines and statutes apply. These may regulate style, size, color, finish, etc. Your sales counselor will have a full understanding of these. Knowing the location of the memorial will determine – to some degree – the type and style of memorial you may choose.
What type of memorial do you prefer?
At this point, the sales counselor will provide you with a list of options that fall within the guidelines of where the memorial will be placed. With this understanding, you may decide the general style and type – upright or slant granite monument, cremation memorial or bronze-on-granite memorial, etc.
The monument dealer or cemetery manager will assist you
By showing all available options – in stone and bronze, in finishes and colors, in personalization of details (etchings, carvings, emblems, artwork, photographs, etc.), etc. – and will work with a stone quarry to custom-design a memorial that meets your needs.
