2.0 INTRODUCTION

A site was selected at the Cold Spring Granite Company headquarters facility where the granite pavers were installed and subjected to both environment and vehicular traffic exposures. The 100 m initial phase of the project included 16 different pavement installation systems. A 50 m area including eight different installation systems was added in 1995.

Visual inspections are performed annually. Destructive testing will be limited due to the limited areas of each particular pavement system. Because the test mockup is in an actual in-service condition, it will take several years or more to obtain data on the performance of many of the systems, however the findings of this test should prove to be more reliable than those collected via simulated or accelerated environmental conditions.
