Granit Bronz to Construct WWII Veterans' Memorial in Marion, Ohio

Cold Spring, Minn. - The Marion WWII Veterans' Memorial Association commissioned Granit Bronz, a division of Cold Spring Granite Company, to supply and install domestically quarried Sierra White and Cold Spring Black granite for a WWII Veterans' Memorial at Marion Cemetery, in Marion, Ohio.

The memorial will honor over 5,700 WWII Veterans from Marion County with their names engraved on the Sierra White radial panels. The 4-ft. x 3-ft. x 14-ft. center feature made of Cold Spring Black includes five military emblems with the American flag incorporated into the design. Other elements of the memorial include a 31-ft. x 10-ft. granite planter, ten granite benches, and an entrance sign.

Cold Spring Granite's Construction Services division is responsible for the installation and setting of the memorial. It is scheduled for completion the spring of 2001 with the dedication on Memorial Day 2001.
