New Columbarium Offers Flexible, Affordable Design OptionsMarch 19, 2001 COLD SPRING, Minn. - A new columbarium system, recently introduced by Cold Spring Granite Company, can be configured for use inside churches, existing mausoleums and other community institutions looking for a flexible and affordable way to memorialize their members. Called the UniTrac, this granite-faced columbarium is sold in stackable niche units that are easily assembled inside existing structures, but maintain the look and sturdy construction of solid granite. "The rising popularity of cremation has increased the demand for memorialization options such as columbaria," said John Mueller, general sales manager of Cold Spring Granite's Granit Bronz Community Mausoleum division. "What makes this new columbarium unique is that it can be configured into a variety of designs and easily assembled inside existing structures." Cold Spring Granite has for years designed and constructed large granite columbariums for cemeteries and memorial gardens. Now its new UniTrac columbarium provides a practical and affordable alternative for interior applications. Because it is composed of a metal framework with granite facing, the new columbarium is easier to construct inside an existing building or structure, such as inside a church or courtyard. The niche units themselves are assembled on site, providing even greater design flexibility. "We expect to see the demand for columbaria increase right along with the rate of cremation," said Mueller. "People who choose cremation are still interested in a meaningful memorial for themselves and their families." ### |
